Dennis L. Davis, 70, passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, at his home, surrounded by the people he loved, after a short battle with cancer. He was born April 7, 1950, in Hutchinson, to Donald and Betty Davis.

Dennis was a loving husband and father.  On September 21, 1973, he married the love of his life, Patricia. Shortly after their wedding, they moved to Alaska, embarking on their life’s journey together.  Dennis and Patricia lived in Alaska for 44 years, and then returned to Kansas. He was a welder and mechanic by trade, and had a passion for auto racing, both in Kansas and Alaska. Dennis was known to be a fierce competitor behind the wheel of a race car. He was strong in the sprint car class, taking many championships in Alaska. Later in life, Dennis loved to travel with his wife and family. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man with a big heart, a good sense of humor, and a love that knew no boundaries.  Dennis will be missed because he was very much loved.

He is survived by his wife and soul mate of 47 years, Patricia; daughter, Misty and husband Chad; granddaughters, Madison and Megan; great-granddaughter, Charleigh; daughter, Tammy; Tammy’s children, Anndi, Jared, and Jessica and their children; siblings, Donna and husband Glenn, Alice, Teri, Angie and husband Randy, David, and Don Jr. and wife Paula; adoptive mother, Mary Davis; brother-in-law, Jim; sisters-in-law, Sherry and partner Jim, and Betty and husband Milt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Don Davis, and mother, Betty Conard.

Cremation has taken place. Private Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
