HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The TECH Inc. Board of Directors announces the resignation of current CEO, Kevin Hess. TECH has been a cornerstone of the community for the past 50 years, committed to providing services that emphasize independence, creativity, self-worth, and connection. These commitments extend to team members such as Kevin who work tirelessly behind the scenes to uphold our mission.
Kevin started with TECH in October 2018 and has served as CEO for the past two years. He has recently acceptedthe VP/CFO position with OCCK, Inc. in Salina, KS. Like TECH, OCCK Inc. is a private organization committed to assisting North Central Kansans with short or long-term disabilities, helping them overcome barriers to employment, live independently, and participate fully in their communities.
In contrast, OCCK employs over 350 staff members and serves more than 5,000 people annually, providing Kevin with greater opportunity for professional growth. Over the years, OCCK and TECH have often collaborated to meet community needs, and Kevin’s new role will boost continued collaboration benefiting TECH clients and the broader community.
Kevin will begin his new role with OCCK on August 1, 2024. He will remain dedicated to TECH during this transition, assisting with the hiring and training of his successor to ensure a smooth continuation of operations. A search committee has been established to oversee the hiring process with former TECH CEO Brenda Maxey returning as a consultant, contributing to the search and transition process.
The executive committee is dedicated to promptly finding a capable and quality leader. After initial discussionswith a few similar organizations, the TECH Board of Directors is confident in attracting a strong pool of candidates for the CEO position.
The entire TECH family congratulates Kevin on this new chapter in his career.
