⚾️Monarchs take care of business with another sweep over the Wichita Lobos

HUTCHINSON, Kan.—The Hutchinson Monarchs (4-0) took care of business again on Wednesday night by sweeping the Wichita Lobos (0-4) at Hobart-Detter field in Hutchinson 10-2 and 8-1.

Hutchinson is now 4-0 on the young season and swept the series over the Lobos in fairly easy fashion.

In game 1, Hutch pounded out 10 runs on 9 hits with short stop Jimmy Blumberg leading the hit parade going 2 for 4 in the early game.  Kaden Wickersham picked up the win in relief of Nathan Adler for his first win of the season. Braden Davis got the save.

In game 2, the Monarchs took advantage of gifted base on balls by the Lobos.  Lane Brewster made the Lobos pay with a triple after the two batters in front of him walked to knock in 2 RBI's. Jimmy Blumberg continued to swing a hot bat by going 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's.  Cade Clemens also knocked in 2 runs batted in in a 6 run Hutchinson 5th inning. Noah Kelley came on in relief and got the win. Grant Ash took the loss for the Lobos.  Wichita takes on the Kingman Islanders on Friday while Hutchinson hosts the Cheney Diamond Dawgs and begins a 4 game series with the Dawgs on Friday. Attendance for Wednesday's games was 313 and with that number surpassed 65,000 fans over the 14 year history in attendance.  That total now is 65, 252.
