HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Charges were officially filed last week in a rape and kidnapping case.
51-year-old Tyrone E. Carter has been charged with rape, aggravated indecent liberties with a child older than 14 and younger than 16 and aggravated kidnapping.
The complaint alleges that Carter had sex with the teen without her consent and while she was under the influence of a substance and that he held the victim against her will.
She told the court that Carter raped her twice, then drove her to Newton, where she was able to walk away and get help.
Because some of the details of the case are not yet clear, the crime has been charged with several potential alternatives, depending upon what set of facts the forensic evidence, once it's processed, will support.
