Police found body of man reported missing in Pratt

Pratt County—On January 5, at approximately 4:15 p.m. law enforcement was dispatched to the area of South Highway 281 and Southeast 30th Street in Pratt County following a report of a deceased individual being found, according to a media release from Pratt Police.

Personnel from the Pratt Police Department, Pratt County Sheriff’s Office, Pratt County EMS, and Pratt County Emergency Management responded to the scene.

The individual was identified as 26-year-old Austin James Archer, who had been reported missing on December 15, 2025.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Mr. Archer died as a result of a self-inflicted injury. The body was released to the coroner pending an autopsy.
