🏈 Hutch High FB: Salthhawks roll Salina South

SALINA, South—The Hutchinson Salthawks overcame the possible "trap game" tag that the matchup with Salina South had on it in a big way Friday night. Hutch was slow out of the  gate with only one touchdown in the first quarter, but made up for it in quarter number two in a big way.

Hutch High's senior QB Nic Lange started thing of with a 15 yard option to score with 2:24 remaining in the first quarter.

Senior running back Noah Khokhar had another big night as he scored two touchdowns on the ground and another with a Lange pass in the right early in the second quarter for three touchdowns on the night.

Zion Burgess and Kade Smith added to the touchdown parade with TD runs of their own.

The lone Salina South score happened with 2:40 remaining to go in the 2nd quarter as Landon Putman threw a strike to Kreighton Modrow for a 62 yard pass and run that smoked the Hutch High defense.

48 seconds later Smith scored his lone touchdown of the night with a 56 yard romp to the end zone to put Hutch up at half time 35-7.

The Salthawk defense only allowed the Cougars 18 yards on 28 carries while the Hutchinson offense grinded ou 352 yards on 51 tries.

Hutchinson returns home next Friday night by hosting Haysville-Campus for white out night at Gowans Stadium. Salina South travels to Newton
