HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Superior Boiler Works says they are moving ahead with their plans to bring their Richmond Virginia facility to Hutchinson next year.
According to a message from President Doug Wright the transition plan is still in place and is being worked as much as they can right now.
The building the new plant will occupy is still being leased by Siemens until at least February of 2021. Siemens does have an option to extend that lease to May but has not done so at this time.
Wright says once Siemens is out of the facility they will begin to move equipment in. The hope is to have the Richmond plant moved to Hutchinson and be fully operational by September 2021.
Efforts to find qualified employees for various roles will start after the first of the year.
The company is already submitting proposals for some projects that, should they be awarded, will be completed in the newly acquired facility.
