Ineta Ruth Studebaker, 100, of Hutchinson, died Feb. 5, 2021, at Hospice House. She was born Jan. 10, 1921, in Windom, Ks. to Walter and Edna (Bengston) Neel.

Ineta graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1938, attended Hutchinson Community College and graduated from Kansas State University. On June 11, 1945, she married John Thomas Studebaker, in San Francisco, California. He passed away May 8, 2010.

Ineta and Tom owned and operated the “Studebaker Jewelry Store” in Haven, Ks. for many years. Later, Ineta worked as an accountant for Krause Plow Corporation.

Tom and Ineta were instrumental in establishing the Haven Church of Christ in 1977. 

Ineta loved quilting and traveling. She was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ, Hutchinson.

Ineta is survived by sons, John Studebaker, Lenexa, Ks., David (Susan) Studebaker, Valley Center, Ks., Greg (Carol) Studebaker, Gladstone, Missouri; daughter, Nancy Fair, Wichita, Ks., 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and sister, Marlyne Nininger, Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom Studebaker; brothers, Ailiff and Dr. Wilbur Neel; and sister, Moretha Lyman.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9 and Wednesday, Feb. 10 at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson.

Out of an abundance of caution, due to Covid, a Private Family graveside Service will be held Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, at Laurel Cemetery, Haven. A “Celebration of Life” Service will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to Silver Maple Camp or Carpenter Place Children’s Home, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
