🏀 Game 14: Walters State holds of Midland College

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Senators from Walters State College continue their run in the NJCAA Division 1 Men's Basketball Championship as they held off a pesky Midland College 95-82.  

In a close battle, the Senators managed to get to a 14-point lead at the 1:21 mark of the first half.  Walters State led by eight at the half 49-41. 

Midland was led in scoring by Antoine Harris with 22. Three others were in double digits with Duane Thompson with 15 and Cayden Reed and Darius Carr each added 12.  The Chaparrals shot 41.1% from the field with 30 for 73 shooting from the floor with 7 three pointers.  

For the Senators they were led in scoring by Jamar Livingston with 19. Carter Webb and Taquez Butler each had 17 and Brian Carder rounded out those in double figures with 12.  Walters State shot 47.5 % from the floor on 28 for 59 with 13 treys. 

Midland ends their season with at 27-7 record. Walters State plays College of Southern Idaho at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
