BARTON COUNTY —Authorities investigating a fatal fire in Hoisington identified the victim as 80-year-old Stanley Jantz, according to Police Chief Kenton Doze.
Just before 8 a.m. Tuesday, crews with Barton County Fire District 2 responded to the fire at a home in the 500 Block of East Third Street in Hoisington, according to Fire Chief Jerry Stricker. Crews learned there was possibly a person still inside the residence.
After attacking the fire and venting out the smoke, personnel located Jantz who was deceased.
Cause of the fire remains undetermined, according to Stricker.
