KC Police: Hit-and-run victim was left along roadway 2 days

Police are looking to identify this vehicle involved in the fatality crash on Dec. 18, just after midnight near Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. and Elmwood Ave. The vehicle will be heavily damaged possibly in the left rear quarter panel and the back window will be shattered. KANSAS CITY (AP) — Police in Kansas City believe the victim of a fatal hit-and-run crash was left lying on the side of a street for more than 48 hours before he was found.

No arrests have been made in the accident that happened just after midnight Friday near Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard and Elmwood Avenue.

Police said on Twitter that a speeding vehicle left the roadway and struck a pedestrian. Police released photos of the vehicle.

Just after 9 a.m. Sunday, someone called authorities to report the body near the road.
