Roberta Josephine (Armstrong) Cook, 84, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021 in Wichita Kansas. She was born in Harper, Kansas to Cyrus Edward Armstrong and Martha Mae (Harris) Armstrong.
Roberta devoted the majority of her life in Wichita, Kansas and lived a significant span of years in Tacoma, Washington with her husband, children and family. She attended Wichita public schools from primary school through high school ending at Wichita High School North. She then married her high school sweetheart and started her family. She was a homemaker and worked as a IRS tax representative in Tacoma, Washington. She retired as a micro-film clerk at Coleman Company in Wichita, KS. Roberta was active in her church Douglas Assembly of God in Wichita, KS as teacher, event coordinator and Deaconess. She is a beloved member of Maple Gardens Village community and remained active by participating in many social and recreational activities.
Roberta is preceeded in death by her husband Gerald 'Dean' Cook of Wichita, son Michael 'Mike' Dean Cook of Wichita, son Richie Dean Cook of Wichita, daughter Pamela 'Pam' Christine Cook of Wichita, son David Eugene Cook of Wichita, father Cyrus Edward Armstrong of Puyallup, WA, mother Martha Mae Deeboch (Armstrong, Harris) of Loomis, WA, sister Mary Vogel (Armstrong) of Puyallup, WA, brother William 'Bill' Armstrong of Puyallup, WA, brother James 'Jim' Armstrong of Tacoma, WA, sister Laura McCord of Tacoma, WA, brother Harry Armstrong of Puyallup WA, sister Rita Wintermute ( Armstrong) of Spanaway, WA.
She is survived by daughter Kathy Underwood (Cook) of Newport, NC, daughter Karen Peacock (Cook) of Wichita, KS, sister Sue Evelhoch (Armstrong) of Neville, PA, sister Donna Oleska (Armstrong) of Yuma, AZ, brother Roy Armstrong of Puyallup, WA, brother Ronald (Ron) Armstrong of Quartzsite, AZ, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 10 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, 12010 W 109th street N and 119th Street W, Bentley, KS. Reception reserved for family and Maple Gardens Village residents will be held at 1:00 pm at Maple Gardens Village, 10200 W. Maple St. Building F-Fireside room, Wichita, KS.
