
James J. “Jim” Jackson, 75, died May 7, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born March 8, 1946, in Hutchinson, to Harrison and Opal (Swepston) Jackson.
Jim graduated from Nickerson High School and retired as a lineman for Westar Energy (now Evergy). He enjoyed the outdoors; spending time fishing, hunting, camping, and gardening. Jim valued his time with all his family and friends.
Jim is survived by: daughters, Pamela Story (Terry) of Hutchinson and Paula Troyer (Bryan) of Haven; sister, Sharon Jackson of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Brent Jackson, Megan Troyer, Mason Story, Mallory Troyer, Brandon Story, and Maddie Troyer; great-grandchildren, Daxton, Kinsley, and Winston; companion, Pat Brown of Wichita; Pamela and Paula’s mom, Donna Newman of Pretty Prairie; and Rex Nall, who was like a son, of Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, James Harrison Jackson.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Bob Phipps officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday, with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
