PRATT COUNTY — One person died in an accident just after 9 p.m. Tuesday in Pratt County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2013 Toyota RAV4 driven by 65-year-old Gregory G. Hettmansberger of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin was westbound on U.S. 54 ten miles east of Pratt and struck a deer in the roadway.
The Toyota was sitting sideways, disabled in the roadway. A westbound 1997 HBP Road Trek RV Van driven by 26-year-old Andrew C. Marshall of Shawnee struck the Toyota on the passenger side.
Gregory Hettmansberger was pronounced dead at the scene.
EMS transported a passenger in the Toyota, 70-year-old Cynthia L. Hettmansberger to Wesley Medical Center. Marshall was not injured and was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
