HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County Administrator Randy Partington let the public know that the Board of County Commissioners meetings are going to be in a different place for awhile.
"At the courthouse annex, or the county annex where you pay your tags and taxes, there's a larger conference room that we are adding audio and visual, a TriCaster system to still be able to televise, space out the commissioners and get more people in the audience," Partington said. "We should be in a good position."
COVID-19 really showed how small the commission chambers at the courthouse are.
"We only had about three or four audience members, I guess, with the commission," Partington said. "In the overflow area, the delay on the audio and visual was about 15 to 30 seconds. What people were watching, we were already past in the commission. It was real time, but not really real time, if that makes sense."
The equipment is being worked on this week, so the first meeting in the space at the Annex should be April 13 at 9 a.m.
