Roland Devere "R.D." Johnson |1938-2021|

Roland Devere "R.D" Johnson, 83, of McPherson, passed away at 10:37 a.m., Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021 at the farm he was born on, north of Conway with his daughter nearby.

R.D. was born in Rural Conway, on June 14, 1938, a son of Evelina Beda (Ledell) and Leebert Bernard Johnson.

R.D. attended Elmdale Country School for the 1st Grade until they consolidated with Centerview Country School where he attended until the 8th Grade. He then attended and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson.

He served in the U.S. Army as a SP5. Kansas Army National Guard Company A.

Throughout the years Roland worked as a farmer and a dirt mover driving his D6C Caterpillar. R.D. appreciated Agriculture and Soil Conservation.

R.D. enjoyed collecting antique farm and dirt moving equipment.

He is survived by his daughter, Inga Alicia Marie "Boogedy" Johnson, of San Francisco, California and his nephew Greg McCullough, of Homer, Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leebert and Evelina Johnson and his sister, Ruth Elaine McCullough.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson.

Burial will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at New Gottland Lutheran Church Cemetery Mcpherson.
