Pratt - Marvin Leon Murphy, 80, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Grand Plains Skilled Nursing in Pratt. He was born on November 23, 1940 in Montevallo, Missouri to Clarence Melvin and Aliene Marie (Oyler) Murphy. Marvin married Christie LeAnn (Badders) Murphy on January 2, 1964 in St. John, Kansas. They were married for 57 years.

Leon was the former owner of Cunningham 66 Service Station until 1995 when he went to work as a truck driver for Kanza Coop for 18 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was formerly a member of the Masons and Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing, mowing and working on mowers and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Christie of Pratt; children, Aaron (Angela) Murphy of Cunningham, Sherrina (Doug Badders) Murphy of Wichita, Connie (Malan) Bontrager of Hutchinson and Jim (Kathleen) Badders of Wichita; brothers, Bob (Nancy) Murphy and Bennie (Eileene) Murphy both of Isabel; grandchildren, Bryce Murphy, Lauren Murphy, Elizabeth Dies, Helen Doss, Tori (Jay) Culver, Ashley Badders and Heather Badders; and 7 great grandchildren.

Leon is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gene Murphy, Kenny Murphy and Bill Murphy; sisters, Charlene Gowens and Dixie Hamilton; and grandsons, Bill Culver and James Culver.

Visitation will be Monday, September 27, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church, Pratt with Pastor John Kissell presiding. Burial will follow at Iuka Cemetery, Iuka.
