Police arrest 2 Kan. juveniles for gunfight after 2-vehicle crash

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a gunfight and have two suspects in custody. 

Just after 2 a.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to the 1300 block of SE Indiana in Topeka on a report of a two vehicle accident that involved shots being fired, according to Police Lt. Manuel Munoz.

Upon arrival, officers located both vehicles involved in the accident and both vehicles had been abandoned.

Officers spoke with several witnesses who provided very detailed description of two individuals. Officers were able to locate both of the individuals near the accident scene.

As a result of the investigation, two juveniles were taken into custody and transported to Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of  Aggravated Assault, Possession of Stolen Property and Discharge of a Firearm within the city limits. Police reported two injuries.
