Elizabeth “Betty” Jane Kershaw, age 96, of Norman, passed away peacefully at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City on Friday, August 16, 2024. She was born in Humboldt, Kansas and graduated from Hartford High School, Hartford, Kansas. She was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to supporting her family. She was a pillar of strength for her family, especially during her husband’s long working and radio broadcasting years, as well as raising two children. She had a strong faith in God that sustained her through the deaths of her son and husband. She was a longtime member of McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church in Norman.
She was preceded in death by parents Thomas and Marie Boyce, a brother, Ezell, a sister, Shirley Weide, her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Kershaw, and her beloved son, Michael Kershaw. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Canfield and husband Larry of Blanchard, and her grandson, Tyler Smith and wife Tiffeny, and great-granddaughter Scottie Smith all of Oklahoma City.
Betty will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
