Mary Dona Teaney, 93, of Halstead, died June 6, 2021, at Halstead Health and Rehab. She was born December 25, 1927, in Turon, to Harry and Mina (Davis) Dimitt.
Dona graduated from Turon High School in 1946. She was a homemaker. Dona loved the Arlington Senior Center and was very involved there. She was an avid bowler and even traveled to different states for bowling leagues. Dona also loved butterflies and collected anything and everything that had a butterfly on it. She was a member for many years at Arlington United Methodist Church and participated in the women’s group there.
In 1947, Dona married Richard Kuhns in Arlington. He passed away in 1964. On February 26, 1966, she married William Teaney in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He passed away on May 20, 1989.
Dona is survived by: son, Darrel Kuhns (Patricia), Red Rock, Texas; daughters, Mary Hall (Terry Morris), Newton, Dawn Hill, Red Rock, Texas, Debra Chappel, Haviland; bonus children, Sue (Tom), Mary (Mike), both of Hutchinson, and Bonnie of Stillwell, Oklahoma; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Richard Kuhns; husband, William Teaney; son, Dave Kuhns; step-sons, Billy and Tommy; grandsons, Richard Kuhns, Joseph Passell, and Bobby Townley.
Memorial gathering will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Arlington City Park, Arlington. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
