HUTCHINSON – Amidst such a challenging year, the importance of distinguishing the hard work of educators is more crucial than ever. Jenny Sullivan was named the Classified Employee of the Year in Hutchinson USD 308 Tuesday. Sullivan has been with the district since August of 2014, working as a Modified Specialized Para for Hutchinson High School.
The district said in a news release, "Sullivan is an enthusiastic team member that knows the importance of building positive relationships with her students and her co-workers. She works with students in the community and in the classroom, and is always ready to adapt and adjust to whatever the situation may be. Sullivan’s insight and compassion for the challenges that we all face is part of what makes her the exceptional worker that she is."

“I’m not someone that can just sit and wait for the student to come to me, that is not what I was hired to do,” shared Sullivan in an interview with the Classified Committee, the group that chooses the recipient of this annual award.
Sullivan was presented with the honor at Hutchinson High School’s annual all-staff cookout Tuesday.
