Laura Jean Ragsdale, 72, passed away on June 4, 2021 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, KS. She was born August 8, 1948, in Pawhuska, OK, the daughter of Jaydee Ragsdale and Lucretia (Boylan) Nichols.

She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1966 and attended Hutchinson Community College. She worked for Hartmans and Cessna for over 20 years as a forklift operator. She was a very active member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of the NAACP. Laura was a loving and caring mother. She loved her sons more than anything and they were the center of her world. She was also a loving and caring daughter, sister and aunt. In Laura’s spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her close friends, family and bingo crew.

Laura was preceded in death by her father, Jaydee; and a brother, Edward L. Tipton.

She is survived by her mother, Lucretia; two sons, Robert and Jeffrey Ragsdale; two brothers, Roger Coffee and Bruce Nichols, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 1015 E. 7th, Hutchinson, with Reverend William Green presiding. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to Friendship Meals and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave. Hutchinson, KS 67502. Immediately following the interment, there will be a dinner held at the Macedonia Church.
