WICHITA, Kan. — Former Wichita State standout Dexter Dennis will join the AfterShocks roster as the Wichita State alumni team prepares to defend its championship in The Basketball Tournament.
The AfterShocks announced Thursday that Dennis will play in the team’s best-of-three series against The Enchantment, a New Mexico alumni team. Dennis joins Markis McDuffie as the first two announced roster commitments, with additional players expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
This summer will mark Dennis’ first appearance with the AfterShocks.
Dennis played at Wichita State from 2018-22 before transferring to Texas A&M for his final season of eligibility. He started 128 of his 146 games with the Shockers, earning American Athletic Conference All-Freshman Team honors in 2019 and AAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2022.
Dennis later spent part of his rookie professional season on a two-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks. The 27-year-old has played the past two seasons with the Stockton Kings of the NBA G League.
All three games of the series against The Enchantment will be played at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita.
Game 1 is scheduled for 7 p.m. July 20 and will be televised on FS1. Game 2 is set for 8 p.m. July 23 on FS2. A deciding third game, if necessary, will be played at 8 p.m. July 24 and will also air on FS2.
Tickets are available through TBTHoops.com or the Wichita State ticket office.
The AfterShocks won their first TBT championship in 2025 and enter this summer seeking a second consecutive title and the tournament’s $2 million prize. The Wichita State alumni team has compiled a 23-5 record since making its TBT debut in 2019.
