
COLBY, Kan. — No. 19 Hutchinson (12-3, 7-2) was poised to race away with a double-digit victory Saturday in Colby (6-8, 3-5) when the Trojans made things interesting to close the third quarter.
The Dragons built their largest lead of the game nearly halfway through the third quarter. Nearly four minutes later, the Trojans erased the 13-point lead and closed within two on an Easha Potts offensive rebound and putback.
A minute later, Potts tied the game with her only triple of the contest.
Colby closed the third quarter on a 16-3 run to deadlock the game at 50.
Elia Ando knocked down a pair of free throws for Colby with 18 seconds left in the third quarter to tie the game.
The Trojans would not score again until Ando hit another pair of free throws with 1:37 left in the contest.
The Dragons held the Trojans to just 1-of-6 shooting in the final frame and surrendered only five points in the quarter.

KaMyra Barber tied her career-high with 23 points while Katie Duncan added 18.
Dessirae Ulmer led the way for Colby with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Hutchinson is home in the Sports Arena on Wednesday, Jan. 7, to face Coffeyville at 5:30 p.m.
