HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Jackson Swearer with StartUp Hutch notes that his job is to get people who want to start businesses connected with resources to help them get started and one of the best ways to do that is to connect with those who are doing it successfully.

"We're running a couple of different events," Swearer said. "One of those is called The Hot Seat. That's a virtual event. We'll have one of those coming up here at the beginning of next month in October. You'll want to check out our social media to follow that. We will also be doing an event called Entrepreneurship Connections. We've been hosting these, these are kind of mingle opportunities for people who are thinking about starting a business and people who have just started a business."

They also try to get some experts to the gathering just to allow those natural conversations to happen and hopefully get some ideas passed on.

"Having a clear strategy up front and knowing what your financials are going to look like and having some solid projections, is really important for folks to make sure that they can be successful in the long term and don't set themselves up in a bad situation right when they're getting started," Swearer said. "That's something that we can definitely help people with. We want people to come by and see us, preferably before they get too far down the road of starting their business, when they are in the planning stages."

Swearer also can help if businesses are looking to expand or if they are looking to sell to the next generation. For more information, go to startuphutch.com or call (620) 665-3319.
