Wind Advisory in effect Friday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The National Weather Service office in Wichita has issued a Wind Advisory from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday.

South winds from 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected. There is also a High Wind Watch for tonight through Saturday morning, with south winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph possible.

The advisory is for Russell, Lincoln, Barton, Ellsworth, Rice, Reno and Kingman Counties.

Strong winds could blow down large trees limbs and power lines. Sporadic power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Secure outdoor objects and use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle.
