The Hutchinson Community College football team faces its first nationally ranked matchup of the season Saturday on the road.
The No. 2-ranked Blue Dragons (3-0, 1-0 KJCCC) travels to play No. 12 Butler (1-0, 0-0 KJCCC) at BG Products Veterans Stadium in El Dorado. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
The game will be broadcast on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) and on sister stations KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) with Sean Boston (play-by-play) and Daren Dunn (color) calling the action beginning at 5:30 p.m. Butler Creative TV will provide the video stream.
The Blue Dragons enter play on Saturday after defeating Garden City 70-0 in their KJCCC home opener last Saturday at Gowans Stadium. The Blue Dragons rolled up 415 rushing yards, led by redshirt sophomore JB Price, who had 192 yards and three touchdowns on just 15 carries. Price was the KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week.
Through three games, the Blue Dragons have scored 205 points, which is the third-most points scored in a three-game stretch in program history.
Defensively, the Blue Dragons have been equally impressive. The Dragons are allowing 3.3 points and 100.3 total yards per game over the first three games of 2026. The Dragons are allowing 36.3 rushing yards and 67.0 passing yards per game. The Dragons also have eight takeaways this season (5 interceptions and 3 fumble recoveries).
Last season, the Blue Dragons played in six games against nationally ranked competition, going 5-1 in those games. Overall in head coach Drew Dallas' tenure, the Blue Dragons are 29-5 against ranked opponents.
The Blue Dragons also look to extend a program record road winning streak, which now stands at 26 games. That streak, which does not include neutral site games, dates back to 2021.
Butler is the lone KJCCC team not to play a conference game this season. The Grizzlies also come off a bye week last week.
The Grizzlies won a wild 26-24 season opener at Iowa Central on August 29 with Yusef Iskandrani kicking a go-ahead 18-yard field goal with 13 seconds to play. Butler then dropped a 21-13 decision to NEO in the home opener on September 5.
Offensively, the Grizzlies are averaging 19.5 points and 292.0 yards per game with 160.5 yards coming on the ground. Defensively, Butler is allowing 22.5 points and 364.0 total yards per game.
Saturday's game will be the 103rd in series history between Hutchinson and Butler. The Blue Dragons lead the series 51-50-1. Last season, also at BG Products Veterans Stadium, the Blue Dragons defeated the Grizzlies 27-12 for their fourth-straight win in games played in El Dorado.
