For the first time in nine seasons, the Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team is ranked in the Top 10 of the NJCAA Division I National Rankings.

After a 1-0-1 week against a pair of nationally ranked opponents, the Blue Dragons jumped three spots and moved into the Top 10 at No. 8 on Monday.

The Blue Dragons are 7-0-3 thus far after a 1-0 victory over then-No. 8 Barton on Wednesday at the Salthawk Sports Complex and a 1-1 road draw at No. 18 Kansas City on Saturday. The Blue Dragons are 4-0-3 (15 points) to lead the KJCCC.

The Blue Dragons are in the NJCAA Top 10 for the first time since being ranked No. 9 at the end of the 2014 season. The No. 8 ranking is the highest rank since a No. 7 ranking on October 17, 2012.

The Blue Dragons have just one game this week, a Top 10 matchup against No. 10 Cowley at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Salthawk Sports Complex. That game will be the first home Top 10 matchup since No. 6 Hutchinson defeated No. 3 Johnson County 2-1 on October 13, 2010.

Once again there are five Jayhawk Conference teams ranked in the NJCAA Division I Top 20. After No. 8 Hutchinson and No. 10 Cowley, Barton is now ranked No. 12, Kansas City is No. 17 and Butler is No. 18.

The top two teams in the NJCAA rankings remain the same with Iowa Western at No. 1 and Tyler at No. 2. Seminole State and Daytona State both move up a notch to Nos. 3 and 4, respectively. Eastern Florida State dropped two spots to No. 5.

The Blue Dragons have now been ranked in 11 consecutive polls.
