Alan 'Pete' Ray Maxfield |1949-2021|

Alan Ray ‘Pete’ Maxfield, 72, of Hutchinson, passed away peacefully October 31, 2021, at Hospice House. He was born June 22, 1949, in Hutchinson, to LeRoy V. ‘Bus’ and Dorothy F. ‘Dot’ (Renner) Maxfield.

Pete graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1968. He served in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1973 and was deployed to Vietnam. Pete worked as a heavy equipment operator for Reno County. He enjoyed reading, loved music, and was fascinated with wolves and everything about them. Pete was of the Baptist faith.

He married Leslie Ann Leonard. She died December 11, 2017.

Pete is survived by: sons, Justin Maxfield of Sedgwick County, Danny Maxfield of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Paige, Harley, and Darian Maxfield; brothers, Jerry Maxfield of Hutchinson, Michael Maxfield (Edie) of Monument, CO; caregivers, Mike and Sally Chansler; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2021, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Ron Kyker officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park with military honors conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1-8 p.m. Sunday, with family present to receive friends from 2-4 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
