LAWRENCE, Kan. β€” Kansas will travel to Louisville for an exhibition men’s basketball game on Friday, Oct. 24, ahead of the 2025-26 season, the schools announced Tuesday.

The matchup will mark the first meeting between the programs since January 1993, when Kansas defeated Louisville on the road. The Jayhawks own a 6-5 edge in the all-time series, which began in 1959.

As part of a home-and-home exhibition agreement, Louisville will make the return trip to Allen Fieldhouse ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The October exhibition is expected to give Kansas fans their first look at highly touted freshman Darryn Peterson. KU is also scheduled to play a traditional exhibition against an in-state Division II opponent at Allen Fieldhouse before opening the regular season against Green Bay on Nov. 4.

Additional details, including tipoff time, broadcast information, and whether the game will benefit a charitable cause or NIL initiative, are yet to be announced.
