Pratt - Robert "Bob" Kent Doolittle, 81, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Pratt Health and Rehab. He was born on January 22, 1940 in Fort Scott, Kansas to Wallace F and Bess (Mathews) Doolittle. Robert married Judith "Judy" (Bohrer) Doolittle on December 12, 1964 in Pratt. They were married for 56 years.
Bob graduated from Preston High School in 1959 and Pratt Junior College with a Business Degree. He was a lineman for Ninnescah Rural Electric and then went to work as an Administrator for 38 years until he retired from what is currently known as Pratt Health and Rehab. He was a member of Elks Lodge BPOE #1451, American Legion and Pratt Gun Club. He was proud of his service in the Army serving from 1959-1962. He was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. He did his training in Fort Bragg, North Carolina and served 18 months in Germany and made jumps in Alaska and in the John Wayne movie "The Longest Day". He enjoyed hunting and fishing in Colorado with his buddies, collecting guns and knives, watching football especially the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas Jayhawks, playing basketball and softball on the Pratt town teams. He competed in trap, skeet and sporting clay shoots winning several trophies and medals.
He is survived by his wife, Judy of nearly 57 years; daughters, Darby (Brad) Flemming of Pratt and Debra (Jim) Hiebert of Hutchinson; grandsons, Elijah, Micah and Enoch Hiebert; sister in-law, Gloria Holcombe; brother in-law, LeRoy Bohrer; nephews, Matt, Jason and Doug Schwartz; and many special friends.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wallace Doolittle; and grandson, Jedidiah Hiebert.
Friends may sign the book Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 10, 2021 at Larrison Mortuary with John Hamm presiding. Burial with military honors will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt. The family would like to receive friends after the graveside service at Larrison Mortuary.
