Boys & Girls Club to kick off after-school programs Aug. 27

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Officials from Boys & Girls Clubs of Hutchinson announced Monday they will reopen for the after-school program on Thursday, Aug. 27.

Members, staff, parents and volunteers will strictly follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Reno County Health Department guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all participants.

All club members, employees and volunteers will be required to wear masks, member activities will be separated by grade and employees will remain with the same grade each day.

Also as a precaution, all members and staff will have their temperature checked daily and the club will continue to use its enhanced cleaning protocol.

This school year, Boys & Girls Clubs will operate Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. after school at three locations separated by grade. Avenue A School at 111 S. Madison will serve kindergarten through third grade members, Shadduck Park Community Center at 600 W. 2nd will serve fourth through sixth grade members, and The Mine at 111 N. Walnut, Ste. B, will serve seventh and eighth grade members.

The Boys & Girls Clubs offer a sliding scale membership fee for the school year:

• $110 for students on free lunch

• $150 for students on reduced-price lunch

• $200 for students on full-pay lunch

• There is no cost for teens to join.
