Alfred Vaughn “Ike” Isaac, 92, of Hutchinson, died October 6, 2021, at Hospice House. He was born April 23, 1929, in Manchester, Kansas, to James and Susan (McVaugh) Isaac.

On January 20, 1957, he married Charlotte Lavern Brigman, in Michigan. They shared 64 years together.

Ike graduated from Chapman High School in 1947. Shortly after graduation, he joined the United States Navy during the time of the Korean conflict. Ike then worked as a truck driver, owning several of his own trucks. He loved woodworking and built all the cabinets for their kitchen in Liberal.

Alfred never met a stranger. As soon as you met him you felt as if he was a friend. He knew how to do anything and he always had just the right tool for whatever you needed. He would always offer what he had to you by saying “I have just the thing for that!”. Neighbors and friends always said they knew they could count on him for anything help they might need.

Ike is survived by: wife, Charlotte Isaac, Hutchinson; daughter, Lynda Cole, Edgerton; son, William Isaac, Olathe; son, Thomas Isaac, Wichita; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Debra Lynn Isaac; and brother, William Isaac.

Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
