HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Art Center will be trying something new with its Friday Morning Artists group.
Starting January 2025, the group will be moved from Friday to Saturday. Why are we doing this? Over the past few years, numerous people have told us that they would like to participate in the group but cannot do so due to scheduling conflicts with work and/or school. There is also interest from regular group members and Art Center staff to see the group grow.
Moving the artist group from Friday to Saturday will allow more people to participate as artists as well as models.
If you have not participated in Friday Morning Artists, the group meets from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hutchinson Art Center on Friday morning with their art supplies and $8 in hand. A model is provided by the Art Center to sit in a set pose for the group, making it the perfect opportunity to brush up on figure drawing skills!
Artists are not required to arrive at 9 a.m. or stay for the whole duration of the session; the group follows a “come and go” policy. There is no instructor or formal instruction process during this group meet-up, just the supportive environment of a great group of artists.
