The National Weather Service in Wichita says a Heat Advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Heat index values of 100 to 105 are expected during the afternoon hours in central and south central Kansas.
Hot air and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.
Stay well hydrated to reduce the risk of heat related illnesses. Avoid working outside during between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. if possible.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles.
