Saturday begins a four-week stretch where the Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragons will be away from Gowans Stadium, the longest length of time between home games in Blue Dragon history.

That four-week odyssey begins with a national Top 10 matchup as the top-ranked Blue Dragons travel to play No. 9 Iowa Central.

Kickoff is set for Noon at Dodger Stadium in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The game will be broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) and on sister stations KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) beginning at 11:30 a.m. with Sean Boston (PBP) and Daren Dunn (color) calling the action. Iowa Central Triton video will provide the video stream.

This Top-10 matchup will be the 22nd for the Blue Dragons in the Drew Dallas era. The Dragons are 17-4 in Top 10 games under Dallas.

Saturday's matchup will feature two of the top-seven scoring offenses in the early stages of the 2025 NJCAA season.

Iowa Central is No. 1 nationally in scoring at 70.0 points per game. The Tritons have scored 77 against Division III Central Lakes-Brainerd and 63 points at Highland. The Blue Dragons are sixth in the NJCAA in scoring at 53.0 points per game. Hutchinson scored 86 in a road win at New Mexico Military and defeated No. 2 Iowa Western 30-27 last Saturday at Gowans Stadium.

Iowa Central also leads the nation in total offense at 527.0 yards per game. The Blue Dragons rank sixth in total offense at 444.0 yards per game.

This will be the fifth-straight meeting between Hutchinson and Iowa Central to match up as nationally ranked opponents.

The last time the Blue Dragons played in Dodger Stadium, defensive back Ryan Nolan tied a Blue Dragon single-game record with three interceptions in a 27-2 Hutchinson victory in 2023.

Last season, the Blue Dragons rallied from 14 points down with 6:39 to play in the fourth quarter, forced overtime and won 33-30 on a Nestus Burger walk-off 34-yard field goal.

Against No. 2 Iowa Western last Saturday, Blue Dragon quarterback Christian Johnson completed 18 of 26 passes for 242 yards with a touchdown against the Reivers. He rushed for two other short touchdowns, going for 42 yards on 18 carries. Johnson threw a go-ahead 3-yard touchdown pass to Derrick Salley Jr., with 1:01 remaining in the fourth quarter.
