A new community tradition is set to debut this Friday as Wisdom In Motion hosts its First Annual Spooktacular, a free family-friendly Halloween celebration focused on community, creativity, and connection.
The event will take place Friday, Oct. 17, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Homebuilder’s Shelter in Carey Park and promises an evening of fun for all ages. Activities will include games, a bounce house, a Trunk or Treat, and a Crockpot Cook-Off, where locals can compete for the coveted Golden Spatula Award.
Those looking to make a difference can also sign up as mentors during the event—each new mentor registration will be entered into a drawing for Kansas City Chiefs tickets, with parking included.
“This event is about more than Halloween fun,” said Michael Jobe, Executive Director of Wisdom In Motion. “It’s about bringing families together, celebrating our youth, and connecting our community with the positive programs and mentorship opportunities we offer year-round.”
Organizers encourage community members to come in costume and enjoy an evening filled with laughter, local flavor, and a spirit of togetherness.
