Reno County, Kansas - November 5, 2020 - A virtual town hall featuring area health professionals is scheduled for Thursday, November 5 at 7:00 pm, as part of the COVID Cut-Off Challenge. The challenge encourages Reno County residents to be intentional with their actions for the next ten days in order to help curb the spread of COVID-19 and lead to change in behaviors through the pandemic.
Expected topics include current ICU capacity and staffing, new trends in pediatric cases, treatment practices, and community mitigation. Panelists include Scott Pauly, MD, Ellen Losew, MD, and Humayun Ashraf, MD, from the Hutchinson Clinic, as well as Rex Degner, MD, Jon Miller, RN, BSN, CCRN, and Amanda Hullet, RN, BSN, MHCL, from the Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System. Karen Hammersmith, Interim Reno County Health Officer, will also speak about the County's efforts. Aubrey Patterson, Reno County Community Foundation President and CEO, will serve as moderator.
The event will be streamed live on the Reno County Emergency Management Facebook page as well as the Reno County YouTube page, and will be replayed later on the City's Cable Channel 7.
