HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson firefighters responded to a fire in a home and a camper early Monday morning, and one person was taken to the hospital.
Just before 3 a.m., crews were called to 514 North Van Buren, where a camper in the driveway of the residence was on fire.
The camper caught the exterior of the house on fire and that fire spread into the home's attic.
The fire was quickly put out, but not before the camper was a total loss. The home suffered moderate damage. Two people were home. One was taken by EMS because of smoke inhalation.
No firefighters were hurt. The Red Cross is helping the occupants. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
