HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The case count is dropping for COVID-19 in Reno County.
According to the Monday report from the Reno County dashboard, there are 555 cases of COVID-19 active in the county. This is the first day with a report below 600 since September 8.
Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System reported Monday that nine COVID patients were hospitalized, with five in the ICU and eight on respiratory support. Of those numbers, two of the patients on all three lists are vaccinated.
In cumulative numbers from the county dashboard, 9,043 people have recovered from COVID-19 and 29,671 have had at least one dose of vaccine. If you add those two numbers together, you get 38,714 of 62,450, or just shy of 62% with some sort of immunity.
That number could be marginally higher or lower based on fully undiagnosed cases that recovered and so were never counted, or those who both had COVID and chose to be vaccinated, which would put them on both lists.
