WICHITA, Kan. -- The Wichita State baseball team has earned the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2023-2024 academic year.
The award honors high school and college programs coached by ABCA members that post a grade-point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the current academic year. It's the seventh straight year the Shockers have earned the honor.
WSU tallied a 3.463 cumulative GPA in 2023-2024, placing five student-athletes on the Academic All-District Team.
The Shockers were one of five American Athletic Conference programs to earn the award, joining ECU, Tulane, Memphis and Florida Atlantic.The complete list of teams earning the award is available here.
