Louis Naccarato Jr. was born March 13, 1936 in Cherokee, Kansas. He passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. Louis had just celebrated his 86th birthday on Sunday.
Louis lived in Cherokee until graduating high school in 1953. He married his high school sweetheart, Helen Hostar, on April 14, 1956 in Chickapee, Kansas. Over the years they lived in Coffeyville, Wichita, Caney and Valley Center.
After working at Boeing, in December of 1971 he moved to Caney, where he opened a Western Auto store. There, he was a regular on 4th street, where he spent a great amount of time visiting with, and helping the citizens of Caney. He became active in the community and schools. In the early 80’s he changed businesses and started Lou’s Heating & Air Conditioning, until retiring in 2005. In 2008, Helen and Louis moved to Valley Center to be closer to the grandchildren. Louis took great pride in watching and being involved with his grandchildren.
Louis received a lot of joy from watching his sons and grandchildren participate in activities. He could always be found in the stands watching wrestling matches, football games, baseball and softball games, volleyball matches, band concerts, and even dance recitals. He also had a passion for John Deere tractors and loved competing in antique tractor pulls throughout the state. And, if there was a parade going on, he would proudly drive his tractors for all to see. However, Louis was at his happiest when he was surrounded by family playing board games that could get quite competitive.
Louis is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.
