Retired special education teacher and longtime community volunteer Lynnette Krieger-Zook has officially launched her campaign for the Kansas House District 104 seat, pledging to focus on affordability and accountability if elected to represent Hutchinson, Buhler, Inman and surrounding rural communities.
In announcing her candidacy, Krieger-Zook said Kansans are facing growing economic pressures and need practical leadership focused on everyday concerns facing families, small businesses and rural communities.
“Communities across our state are facing real economic pressure, and people are looking for leaders who understands their struggles,” Krieger-Zook said. “Kansans deserve practical solutions, honest communication, and leadership focused on helping families, small businesses, farmers, working people and local communities thrive.”
Krieger-Zook said her campaign will emphasize lowering costs for working families while promoting transparency and responsible government leadership in Topeka.
“I’m running to make life more affordable, protect taxpayer dollars, and ensure government answers to the people — not special interests,” she said. “I believe that a Representative should be committed to representing, valuing and bringing the voices of our community to Topeka.”
According to her campaign announcement, Krieger-Zook’s platform will center on two main priorities: affordability and accountability.
On affordability, she said she supports policies aimed at reducing the tax burden on working families, increasing access to attainable housing and addressing rising utility and grocery costs. She also highlighted the importance of expanding access to quality health care, particularly in rural communities.
Her accountability platform includes support for public education and fully funding special education services. Krieger-Zook also said she supports partnerships involving public schools, private school students, homeschool families and community organizations to better serve students.
In addition, she said she wants to promote what she described as “commonsense leadership” centered on integrity, hard work and responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources.
Krieger-Zook retired after a career in special education and has remained active in community volunteer efforts throughout the district. House District 104 includes portions of Hutchinson along with Buhler, Inman and nearby rural areas in Reno and McPherson counties.
