HUTCHINSON, Kan. — HutchCC Athletic Director Josh Gooch said right now the department's revenue stream still remains to be seen with the changes in the seasons prompted by NJCAA decisions earlier in the year.
"We did not send out endowment renewals or season ticket renewals," Gooch said. "That is something we're waiting to see through the end of November what having fans for, in the spring, football, basketball, volleyball, the things that generate some of the income for our athletic department, see what that looks like."
It's also changed a little bit about the process of bringing athletes to campus.
"They are in a spot where it's totally new for them," Gooch said. "They're looking at what can they do to maximize this type of time when they don't have contests? Get a jump start, put themselves out there, social media, sending lots of graphics out. They've been able to get to some contests, too, some of the football games that are going on, I know our football staff has been actively attending."
Gooch is confident those who have boosted the Blue Dragons over the years will continue to be faithful. The athletic department's golf tournament is Friday at Carey Park.
