HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council will meet on Tuesday, at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, with a council vacancy, e-bikes, Flock cameras and wastewater projects among the items on the agenda.

The meeting will include the introduction of Jay Hinkle as interim city attorney. Council members are also scheduled to elect a vice mayor.

Under new business, the council will discuss the vacancy on the governing body. The opening was created by the resignation of southwest district council member Greg Fast, whose resignation became effective Oct. 5.

The council will discuss the process for filling the vacant seat, including how interested residents can apply and the qualifications and timeline for selecting a replacement.

Council members will also discuss Flock cameras, which are automated license plate recognition cameras used by law enforcement agencies to help identify vehicles connected to criminal investigations.

The council will hear a presentation on a Wastewater Treatment Facility plan and consider repairs to Wastewater Disposal Well No. 1.
