MCPHERSON —There were no injuries from an earlier morning fire in McPherson.
Just afater 5:30 a.m. Monday, the McPherson Fire Department, along with the McPherson Police Department and McPherson EMS, were dispatched to the 900 block of N. Vanguard Street for a report of a possible structure fire, according to a media release.
McPherson Fire responded with one aerial truck, one engine, three command vehicles, and 10 personnel.
Upon arrival, fire crews found an industrial building with heavy smoke conditions in the shop area and light smoke throughout the office portion of the building. The smoke had been discovered by a facility staff member arriving for work.
Crews investigated the source of the smoke and determined that an industrial-sized air compressor had failed, producing smoke that filled portions of the building. Fire crews ventilated the structure using positive-pressure ventilation.
No injuries were reported, and damage was limited to the air compressor.
All emergency crews cleared the scene by approximately 7:00 a.m.
