The Hutchinson Community College Volleyball team remained in the NJCAA Division I Volleyball national rankings on Monday despite suffering a tough loss last week to Butler.

The Blue Dragons stayed in the rankings at No. 20, falling three spots after a 1-1 week last week – a 3-0 loss to Butler and a 3-2 win over Colby. The highest the Blue Dragons have been ranked this season has been No. 16 this season. The Dragons have appeared in 7 of 9 polls this season.

Hutchinson is 25-9 overall after a 3-0 win over Pratt on Monday night. That victory doesn’t count toward the rankings.

Butler, which lost to Seward County on Friday, is No. 19. Seward County is ranked 13th. Hutchinson is one game behind Seward County for first place in the Jayhawk West. The Dragons are currently 0.5 game ahead of Butler for second place.

Hutchinson’s next match is Saturday at Garden City.

Salt Lake is the No. 1 team in the polls for a second-straight week. Florida Southwestern is second, followed by Indian Hills, Miami-Dade and Western Nebraska.

The Blue Dragons have played six teams this season currently in the NJCAA Rankings.
