SOUTH HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The City of South Hutchinson received the grant to get money for a police patrol vehicle that was applied for <a href="https://hutchpost.com/posts/b097135a-a048-43ad-9516-ec6dd3ae5f06">back in December</a>.

South Hutchinson applied for grant funding with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) under its Rural Development Community Facilities Program.

Under the program, the USDA will provide up to 55% percent of the funding for an eligible project. The city applied for up to $55,000 and the USDA is providing $30,200. That amount was awarded, as of a Monday announcement from the USDA.
