Judith Ann “Judy” Smith, 66, died July 19, 2021, at her home. She was born August 17, 1954, in Medicine Lodge, to Alvin and JoAnn (Lampe) Pearce.
Judy graduated from Nickerson High School in 1972. She worked at Hubco for 24 years, retiring as a printer. Judy was a member of Workers United Union #1525, where she served as the treasurer and shop steward. Judy enjoyed gardening, line dancing, and watching her Kansas City Chiefs. She adored her 18 grandchildren, and was a devoted grandma, leaving her grandchildren many treasured memories of their Grandma Judy.
On November 10, 1972, she married Paul “Tom” Smith, in Maize. They shared almost 35 years of marriage before his death on November 3, 2007.
Judy is survived by: son, Mike Smith of Hutchinson; daughters, Bobbie Lamb (Robb Conner) of Wichita, Holly McCrory of Hutchinson, Heather Nelson (Aaron) of Nickerson, April Higgins (CJ), Stella “Joey” Smith, and Ashley Smith, all of Hutchinson; mother, JoAnn Pearce of McPherson; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by: her father; a sister, Kathy Saloga; husband, Paul “Tom” Smith; and a son, Jason Thomas Smith.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2021, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will greet friends Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
