COLBY, Kan. — The Hutchinson Community College volleyball team dropped its final regular-season match of the 2024 season on Saturday at No. 7 Colby.

The Blue Dragons got off to a slow start and lost to the Trojans 25-7, 25-19, 25-19.

Hutchinson closes the regular season with a 19-20 record and finishes sixth in the Jayhawk Conference with a 7-9 record. The Blue Dragons will open the Region 6 Tournament on the road at third-seed Dodge City. The time for that match will be announced later.

Redshirt freshman Tiana Simmons led the Blue Dragons offensively with seven kills. Freshman Atlyn Proctor had five kills, while sophomores McKenzie Murphy and Precious Johnson added five kills and three kills, respectively.

Sophomore setter Shelbi Wilson had 12 assists, while freshman Ellie Suber finished with 10.

Freshman Addy Foster finished with 13 digs. Now with 617 digs for the season, Foster moved past KeAnne Langford (2007) for third place on the Blue Dragon single-season digs list. Wilson added seven digs and Siani Sanchez had six digs.

Four players – Beatriz Carvalho, Wilson, Simmons and Suber – had one ace each. The Blue Dragons had just one block for the match.
